  • Never place your space heater on carpet or uneven surfaces. The best place your space heater to work most efficiently, is in an open space, sitting on a flat surface. 
  • Never plug your space heater into an extension cord or power-strip. Doing this can increase the changes or overheating, which can lead to a fire. 
  • Never place your space heater within 3 feet of anything that can burn. People often make the mistake of placing their space heater next to pillows, rugs, and curtains, which can lead to a fire.
  • Never leave your space heater unattended. Whenever your space heater is in use, you should be present to monitor it. When your space heater is not in use, unplug it and store it is somewhere safe.
